Men’s basketball earns ninth straight win over Jacksonville

The FGCU men’s basketball team hosted Jacksonville in what would be the first-place battle of the ASUN Tournament. The Eagles extended its eight-game winning streak to nine after beating the Dolphins in a close 68-62 victory. The Eagles were led offensively by Zach Johnson and Brandon Goodwin, who finished with 18 and 16 points respectively. Volleyball adds to coaching staff

The FGCU volleyball head coach, Matt Botsford, has added Stephanie Zielinski to the coaching staff. Zielinski started off as an assistant coach at Wake Forest during the 2015 season. In 2016, Zielinski coached at Davidson prior to spending the 2017 season as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee. The FGCU women’s basketball team secured their second ASUN win over NJIT Saturday night with a 90-66 victory. This win also marks its season-best winning streak at six for the Eagles. Men’s basketball remains perfect in ASUN play with win over NJIT

On Saturday night the NJIT Highlanders traveled to Fort Myers to face the FGCU men’s basketball team in continuation of ASUN conference play. The Eagles came out on top 68-54 with their third straight ASUN victory. After a slow start offensively for both teams, NJIT held a 17-15 lead with eight minutes remaining in the opening half. Women’s tennis at FGCU Spring Invite

The FGCU women’s tennis team will host its annual three-day FGCU Spring Invite. Play is set to begin Saturday, January 13th and conclude on Monday, January 15th at the FGCU Tennis Complex. The teams participating in this invite will be South Carolina, Denver, Rice, Ole Miss and Kansas.
