Preview: Women’s tennis at FIU

The FGCU women’s tennis team will travel to Miami in the hopes of restarting their win streak, with a win over FIU. The rematch against the Eagles and Panthers will take place in Miami Friday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. The Eagles win streak was broken last weekend by UCF, where they were defeated 6-1. Preview: FGCU women’s golf vs. Bowling Green

The FGCU women’s golf team will be spending its Valentine’s Day playing in the Women’s Mid-American Match Play Challenge. FGCU will face Bowling Green for the first time since beating it in the finals of the Mid- American Match Play Challenge in the 2015-2016 season. This victory gave the Eagles the fifth place spot out of the 12-team tournament. The Match Play Challenge follows the women’s No. 7 out of 11 placement in the Florida Challenge on Jan. 30. Next Sunday, the FGCU women’s tennis team will be hosting its in-state rival, the FAU Owls. This matchup will take place Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. at the FGCU Tennis Complex. After dominating their cross-state rival, University of Miami, in their own pools, the FGCU women’s swim team will face another cross-state foe. Next weekend, the FGCU men’s tennis team will be going to Lakewood Ranch for the Dick Vitale Invitational. After a successful weekend in Tallahassee and hosting the Fall Invite at home, the Eagles are ready to get back on the road, hoping to bring home more wins and titles. Preview: FGCU women’s tennis at ITA Women’s Southeast Regional Championship

The FGCU women’s tennis heads to Gainesville to participate in the ITA Women’s Southeast Regional Championship. During the FGCU Fall Invite, the Eagles held a 13-3 overall record in the singles matches. In the singles matches against UCF, the Eagles had a perfect 4-0 record, a 5-2 record against Power-Five opponent Minnesota, and a 4-1 record against Stetson. In the doubles matches the Eagles were able to keep up their success with 10 victories out of 15 total matches.
