Women’s Golf Bounces to Fourth in Amelia Island Collegiate

After finishing sixth on day one of the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville University, the FGCU women’s golf team (303-304-297—904 (+40)) finished tied for fourth place among 15 teams. The Eagles tied with Jacksonville State (299-293-312—904 (+40)). Campbell University was the eventual winner of the tournament. Raining 3’s Sweeps Lipscomb on Senior Day

The FGCU women’s basketball team (25-4, 11-1 A-SUN) rolled to an 88-52 win over Lipscomb (10-17, 6-6 A-SUN) in Alico Arena on Senior Night. With the win, the Eagles are not only 22-0 against the Lady Bison, but are now only one win away from clinching home court throughout the A-SUN Championship. The FGCU women’s tennis team (2-2) competed in their second home matchup and defeated Middle Tennessee State (7-4) 5-2. The FGCU men’s basketball team (20-10, 11-2 A-SUN) lost its second straight game in ASUN Conference play as they fell 87-90 to Lipscomb (19-9, 9-4 ASUN) on Senior Day. With the loss, the Eagles are now 9-12 against the Bison and split the season series as a result. The FGCU softball team (6-0) continues their dominance as they swept visiting RV USF (4-3) 1-0 and 4-1. This is the first time in program history that the Eagles went 6-0 in a season. The FGCU swimming and diving team wrapped up its regular season meets with a close win at home over FIU (7-4) as the Eagles (7-2) won 154-147.
