Waka Flocka and Rae Sremmurd were adorably rambunctious at this year’s Nest Fest

Hip hop artist duo Rae Sremmurd and artist Waka Flocka Flame performed for Nest Fest April 5, Wednesday at Germain Arena in Fort Myers. Around 8:30 p.m., Waka Flocka took the stage to a very eager crowd of nearly 2,000 FGCU students. He burst onto the stage, immediately jumping around and shouting his lyrics while the crowd cheered along with him. The crowd favorites were “No Hands,” in which he rapped the whole song, even the verses by Wale and Roscoe Dash, “Grove Street Party” and “Hard in the Paint.” Through each song he gave a performance with fun...

Drake’s ‘More Life’ combines old and new sounds

‘Italian Pianist From Japan!’ impresses audiences

Giuseppe Mariotti, assisted by Michael Baron, gave a skilled piano performance featuring works from acclaimed and challenging composers at “Italian Pianist From Japan!.” The show was presented on Feb. 24 by FGCU’s Bower School of Music and the arts. The program began with works by Franz Schubert (1797-1828), a complicated composer who, according to a biography by Brian Newbould, was so compulsively dedicated to his work that he produced around 1,000 works in only 18 years. Most of his works were celebrated after his death. The first song the pianists played was “Sonata in A Minor, D784” broken into...
