Bikes Taking a Bath On Monday, Feb. 27 at 1:29 p.m., a campus recreation employee found two bikes that had been left in the North Lake Village Waterfront Bath House. One of the bikes matched a description given by a student whose bike had been stolen earlier in February. UPD has taken the bikes into property pending further investigation. Marijuana in Garage B On Monday, Feb. 27 at 10:42 p.m., a complainant reported an individual was smoking marijuana in Garage B on the third floor. Fourth Floor Drug Deal On Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 12:24 p.m., UPD received an anonymous call in regards to a suspect drug deal taking place on the fourth floor of the library. UPD canvassed the library but was unable to locate the suspects. Elevator Woes On Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 8:28 p.m., two people were stuck in the Garage B elevator. UPD attempted to contact the individuals through the elevator phone, but it was clear from camera footage that they were unable to hear dispatch. Fight in Osprey Hall On Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2:50 a.m., an RA advised UPD of a fight that had broken out on the fifth floor of Osprey Hall. UPD took the two male suspects into custody and drove them to Lee County Jail. Ticketed On Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2:07 p.m., a UPD officer issued a parking ticket at North Lake Village. Oil Spill On Friday, Feb. 3 at 9:21 a.m., UPD officers found that, after a vehicle had broken down, approximately two gallons of oil spilled across the floor of Garage 3. Officers referred this incident to FGCU Physical Plant as a hazardous material. Learner’s Permit On Friday, Jan. 27 at 1:27 a.m., a UPD officer pulled over a vehicle for an obstructed tag. The officer then searched the vehicle due to the strong odor of marijuana. The driver was found to only possess a learner’s permit and was issued a citation for driving without a 21 or older passenger. Police Beat: Break in, masked men, and vaping

Locked and Loaded UPD was called out to South Village on Dec. 31 at 10:31 p.m. due to a social media post showing a student had a gun in their room. When UPD confronted the student, she stated that it was, in fact, a real loaded firearm, and it belonged to her friend that came over earlier in the evening. The owner is a correction officer with the Florida Department of Corrections, so the student didn’t know he wasn’t allowed to have the gun on campus. Bicycle Pump Predicaments On Thursday, Dec. 22 at 5:21 p.m., a complainant called UPD requesting assistance with the bicycle pump in front of McTarnaghan Hall. The complainant was unsure whether the pump was broken or if he was simply not using it correctly. A UPD officer arrived on scene to find that the air pump was missing part of its valve.
