The FGCU baseball team (23-6, 1-0 A-SUN) opened up their portion of the conference with a 9-1 over NJIT (11-11, 1-3 A-SUN). With the win, the Eagles are now 7-0 against the Highlanders. With conference play starting at Swanson Stadium, the (22) FGCU baseball team will host NJIT for a three-game series starting Friday night at 6:30. The Eagles recently had a nine game win streak come to an end courtesy of the top team in the country and reigning National Champions, Florida Gators. The FGCU baseball’s team nine game winning streak came to an end courtesy of the reigning National Champion and current no. 1 team in the country, Florida Gators 8-4. Coming in ranked at #22, the FGCU baseball team will face the top team in the country and reigning National Champions Florida Gators tomorrow night. These two in-state rivals met last season with the Eagles sweeping both games in Gainesville by scores of 7-3 and 3-2.
