For the third time in his career, Zach Johnson was named ASUN Player of the Week after his dominating performances versus UNF and Jacksonville. Johnson averaged 18.5 points, 4 rebounds,3 assists, and 2.5 steals in the two games helping the Eagles build a two-game lead in the ASUN standings. The Eagles also hold the tiebreaker. FGCU climbs into top 25 in USA Coaches Poll

Coming in as the top-ranked mid major team in the country, the FGCU women’s basketball team has cracked the top 25 in the USA Coaches Poll for the first time since the 2014-2015 season. The Eagles have a perfect 6-0 record in conference play and currently sit at 20-3 on the season. With first place on the line between the lone remaining unbeaten teams in the ASUN conference, the FGCU women’s team defeated Jacksonville 63-58 and sit in first place alone. The FGCU men’s basketball team hosted Jacksonville in what would be the first-place battle of the ASUN Tournament. The Eagles extended its eight-game winning streak to nine after beating the Dolphins in a close 68-62 victory.
