Preview: Men’s cross country at ASUN Preview

The FGCU men’s cross-country team will compete in the ASUN Preview Friday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. The team will be coming off competing in the FAU Invitational where they placed second just 10 points behind in-state rival Miami. Three runners finished in the top-10 for the men, led by Troy Clark, who finished third overall with a time of 15:47.08. Matching its program-best 17th place finish in the NCAA South Region Cross Country Championship, the FGCU men’s and women’s cross country team concluded the 2016 campaign on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Apalachee Regional Park. FGCU cross country match records at ASUN championships

The FGCU men’s cross country team matched its program record, finishing third at the ASUN Championships, while the women placed fifth, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. FGCU’s men’s team totaled 68 points, as Luka Ndunga finished third overall, marking the best individual finish in program history. The Eagles placed behind UNF (22) and Lipscomb (61) in the top three teams. After performing well in their final meet of the season, both men and women’s cross country teams head to Spartanburg, South Carolina to compete in the 2016 ASUN Championships. In their final meet of the season, the men’s team finished runner-up while the women finished sixth at the USF Invitational held at The Claw Golf Course in Tampa. This past weekend, the FGCU men’s cross country team continued to dominate and took home its third win of the season, while the women finished fifth at the Upstate Invitational.
