How to make any costume ZombiCon ready

Are you sick and tired of wearing the same costume every year? Last year you were a cat, and this year you are going to put on the same boring black dress and cat ears. It is time to step up your Halloween game.

ZombiCon is just a few days away, Oct. 17., and there is going to be more than 20,000 people there.  So, it is time to get serious, and turn your old basic Halloween costume into something much more.

Zombie makeup is very easy to acquire. You can get a zombie makeup kit at Walmart for less than $5. So, if an expensive costume is not in your budget, there is no need to worry. Most kits have step-by-step instructions that make it very easy to turn your costume from drab to awesome. Pinterest can also be a good tool when trying to learn how to get your makeup on point for ZombiCon.

Whether you are guy or a girl, there are many different options to choose from. You can turn pretty much any costume into one that is ready for ZombiCon. These costumes also work really well for Halloween night to put a new twist on your outdated outfit. Here are some examples to help you find the perfect look for ZombiCon.

Nerd: Add pigtails and glasses with some high-waisted shorts and a t-shirt (Harry Potter maybe?), and you have got a very easy costume, but let’s just say you definitely will not be the only nerd at the party. Add some white face powder, face blood and cuts to your everyday nerd look, and you have a zombie costume that will put you apart from the rest of the crowd.

Doctor: Throw on some scrubs and a stethoscope and – boom – you will have the easiest but most unoriginal costume out there. But, if you throw some fake blood on your scrubs and put some bags under your eyes (not from those late night premed study sessions) and some self-stitched cuts on your face, you will be the hottest zombie doctor at ZombiCon.

Basketball Player (or athlete in general): Considering the fact that we are from Dunk City, a basketball player may seem very appropriate, but you have to spice it up a little bit. Adding zombie makeup to this everyday costume is a very important step because we all know that’s what a lot of the guys around here wear everyday anyways.

Cheerleader: Throwing on your old cheerleading uniform from high school certainly does not count as a Halloween costume. You are not fooling anyone, we know you wore that outfit every Friday in high school. Adding some fake blood to your cheer bow and messing up that perfectly-curled ponytail will definitely add that new twist that you have been searching for.

Oct. 17 is only a few days away and if ZombiCon is on your agenda, you better get working on your costume.

Zombie makeup and everyday clothes are not going to make you stand out at all when there are going to be thousands of people there. Not only will these help you with your costume, but these ideas will help you stand out to that special someone on Oct. 31.
