World of Beer at Gulf Coast Town Center satisfies all your beer desires

Gulf Coast Town Center (GCTC) has been hopping with new restaurants and bars opening up over the past year. This is great news for students looking for things to do and even better news for those of us who are of age to drink.

On Monday, Aug. 3, World of Beer (WOB) became the newest establishment to make its home in this college town. It had its grand opening at GCTC where, instead of a ribbon cutting, they were tapping a cask.
A visit to WOB is like a trip around the world for your taste buds. You can try 50 beers on draft, over 500 different types of beer in the cooler and suggested pairings of delicious food.
This new location is one of the first few to possess a liquor license and an infusion tower made by Micro Matic. The infusion tower is exclusive to WOB, and it allows WOB to infuse its beers with a variety of different flavors and hops.
“We are able to infuse Sour Patch Kids, cinnamon sticks, coffee beans, fruit and really just about anything you can imagine that’s not going to turn to mush, we can put in there,” said Chris Metcalfe, franchise consultant. “We will be having a menu of different infused beers that will be posted on social media every week that we are excited to offer to our customers.”
Not only will WOB be taking over the bar scene for college students and locals, but it may also become a new favorite for Sunday brunch-goers. Every Sunday, WOB will be opening its doors an hour early at 11 a.m. to serve its twist on Sunday brunch.
“The Sunday BEERunch, we do from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., it’s the only day we open at 11 a.m.,” General Manager William English said. “We will have a brunch menu exclusive for Sundays where you can choose different items. If you choose to do the BEERunch, it is $20, and you get an entrée and then your choice of bottomless mimosas, beermosas or Bloody Marys. We are really hoping this will take off here. With 30 other restaurants in the area, none of them offer a Sunday brunch deal like this.”

If you are new to beer drinking, don’t worry, there is a staff of around 20 on the floor that is willing to answer any of your questions. They can offer you samples in order to help you make the best decision when ordering.
WOB also offers a unique opportunity to join its loyalty program for a one-time payment of $15. This payment gives you access to an app, which includes a checklist of all the beers you have tried with an earning incentive of shirts, paid bar tabs and even parties for achieving each milestone on their beer- drinking checklist.
With the growth of FGCU, the growth of businesses and restaurants like WOB is inevitable. If you are looking for a place to drink and listen to live music, WOB offers a new environment to do so at GCTC.
