Actor Alan Thicke dies at 69

Alan Thicke, best known for his work in the ‘80s sitcom “Growing Pains,” died of a heart attack on Tuesday, Dec. 13. He was 69.

His death was confirmed by son, pop-soul singer Robin Thicke’s publicist Tuesday evening.

Before Thicke made a name for himself, he composed music and served as a producer. The Canadian-born star then starred in his show, “Alan Thicke Show,” from 1980 to 1983.

Thicke went on to host popular shows in the 90s such as “Pictionary” and “Three’s a Crowd.” He also starred in movies based off of his successful sitcom, such as “The Growing Pains Movie” and “Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers.”

The actor recently appeared in Netflix’s “Fuller House” and NBC’s drama “This Is Us.”

“Season 2 Fuller House looking good,” Thicke tweeted at 5:18 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13. “I even like the ones I’m not in! #fullerhouse.”

Thicke leaves behind his wife, Tanya Callau, and three adult children, Brennan, Robin and Carter.
