FGCU Alpha Chi Omega colony mistakenly leaks offensive recruitment notes

During this past weekend, Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, offensive notes from the FGCU colony of Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity’s recruitment, written by alumnae of the organization, were leaked to its members through an email, according to FGCU sisters.
No sisters of AXΩ would go on record to discuss the notes made about the women going through recruitment.
The national office of the fraternity released a confirmation and statement of the incident to Eagle News.
“Personally identifiable information was mistakenly shared over the weekend,” a statement made by Alpha Chi Omega National Officials said. “Alpha Chi Omega sincerely apologizes and has already taken steps to ensure something like this does not happen again. Staff members and national volunteers will be arriving in town and have made themselves available to discuss concerns with members in person. Alpha Chi Omega is committed to being a thriving organization at FGCU.”

According to an annual obligation signed by all members of the organization, AXΩ represents themselves as women that do “not condone unkind, undignified or humiliating activities.”
The chapter will still undergo initiation and installation on campus this weekend.
The president of FGCU’s AXΩ colony, Gabriella Silva, did not respond to Eagle News emails for a statement.
Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity was founded in 1885 as a social organization at DePauw University.
