Police beat (08/30/15 – 09/01/15)

08/30/2015 2:15 p.m.
A complainant reported money was stolen out of her wallet while it was in her vehicle, which was parked in the auxiliary lot in South Village during the night. UPD officers met with the complainant.
The statement was taken and the vehicle was processed.
08/30/2015 9:41 a.m.
A female individual flagged down an officer on the fourth floor of parking garage B to request assistance in locating her vehicle. The officer assisted the individual and the vehicle was found.
08/31/2015 10:49 a.m.
A complainant reported his bike was stolen from the bike rack outside of Eagle Hall in South Village. However, the front tire and chain were left attached to the rack. UPD wrote a theft report of the taken bike except for the front wheel and lock.
08/31/2015 12:26 p.m.
A shuttle driver reported a disabled vehicle at the entrance to the waterfront area in North Lake Village. UPD investigated the vehicle and found out the steering wheel was locked. The owner didn’t know how to unlock it at first, but eventually figured it out.
08/31/2015 2:55 p.m.
A resident requested an officer because she felt uneasy about entering her residence dorm alone. The door was dead bolted and her roommates weren’t home. UPD assisted the individual, nobody was in the apartment and nothing was stolen. However, one of the roommates did lose her key and Housing will have the lock changed.
08/31/2015 7:28 p.m.
An officer was requested to stand by for Housing for a bedroom check. Items were turned over from both bedrooms. Marijuana was found and turned over to UPD for property. The Dean’s Office will review the officer’s report.
08/31/2015 10:55 p.m.
An assault occurrence took place in Everglades building in South Village. The subjects were transported to UPD for statement. The subjects reported a past occurred event, and were taken back to South Village.
09/01/2015 4:33 p.m.
A complainant called UPD to report a woman pushing her vehicle on Ben Hill Griffin Parkway. The owner was able to get her vehicle started and drove it to the entrance at FGCU Boulevard to wait for AAA to arrive.
