Jeb Bush pulls out of 2016 presidential race

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush announced the suspension of his campaign on Saturday, Feb. 20 following a disappointing loss in the South Carolina primaries.

The former Florida governor hoped to gain traction in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina. However, after receiving low voters’ support in South Carolina, he decided to suspend his campaign.

“I’m proud of the campaign we won to unify our country, and to advocate conservative solutions,” Bush said, following the loss. “But the people of Iowa, New Hampshirpe and South Carolina have spoken. Tonight I am suspending my campaign.”

Bush’s departure leaves front-runner Donald Trump, who took South Carolina with a 32.54 percent win, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Dr. Ben Carson and John Kasich remaining in the race for the GOP candidate.
