Library staff called UPD in reference to an elderly man who entered the library and requested to meet with the university president and reporters to discuss climate change. The complainant was concerned for the man’s mental and physical health. The subject left the library and was found at the Veterans Pavilion, where he was found to be of sound mind and was given instructions to contact Campus Reservations to reserve the area.

A tattered American flag was picked up in Alico Arena to be properly disposed of.
3/02/2015 3:02 p.m.
A gold-colored Mitsubishi Montero was blocking the Dumpster area outside of Eagle Hall. The owner was issued a verbal warning to move the vehicle, but could not locate the car keys. The vehicle was pushed out of the way to a safer area while the owner attempted to locate the keys.
3/02/2015 6:21 p.m.
A complainant called UPD to report an alarm going off in Marieb Hall. UPD found the alarm on the third floor of Marieb outside a laboratory, and requested that a Physical Plant employee come to correct the problem.
3/03/2015 3:15 p.m.
A South Village resident director saw two people at the edge of the pond outside of Everglades Hall, and was concerned that they were accosting an alligator. UPD was unable to locate the subjects or the alligator.
3/04/2015 12:16 p.m.
Students were observed swimming in front of Lutgert Hall. UPD did not locate any students in the fountain.
3/05/2015 8:24 p.m.
A complainant observed two males standing by the Wells Fargo ATM at the Cohen Center with a suitcase and bag. When she walked in the area, the subjects left and then came back when she left. The subjects work for Wells Fargo and were working on the ATM.
3/06/2015 8:46 p.m.
A complainant reported seeing smoke at the Nature Trail by Garage 1. They reported it to Campus Reservations, which contacted UPD. An officer contacted San Carlos Fire Department, and then used his fire extinguisher to put out small flames on the trail. The fire department sprayed the area with water to ensure that there would be no flare-ups.
3/07/2015 2:12 p.m.
A complainant called UPD to report that a drunk guy knocked on her door in North Lake Village and went upstairs when she didn’t answer. She heard him knock on the door upstairs and then she heard yelling. She didn’t know if he had entered the upstairs room or not. UPD arrived at the scene and found the area to be quiet.
3/07/2015 3:06 p.m.
A North Lake Village resident pulled her panic cord because there was a male subject in her room who would not leave. When UPD arrived and took a statement, the victim said that when the subject knocked on the door she thought he was a resident assistant, and when she opened the door he pushed his way into the room and refused to leave.
3/10/2015 2:53 p.m.
Four individuals in South Village Garage B were found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Notices to appear were issued to two individuals for possession of less than 20 grams marijuana and paraphernalia. Officers also found several clear, empty bags with special logos on them, but did not take them for evidence.
