I am writing in regards to the health and fitness articles in this newspaper. After reading through a number of articles on the Arts & Lifestyle section of this paper, I realized there were not many pieces on health and fitness. This concerns me because I’m sure many of the readers would enjoy more health tips from the experts at the Prevention & Wellness Center or even from our own school trainers.
Research shows that most active college students get their health and fitness information from online sources and magazines. However, I have been on a life-changing health journey for almost a year now, and I can testify that there will always be some bias for those credible individuals you already know when choosing on whose advice to follow. It is, therefore, in A & L section’s favor to provide our students and faculty members with this knowledge as they already have a trust base set with them.
Introducing a health and fitness article in this section more often, be it online or in the actual paper, could be very beneficial for students and faculty members who wish to have more accessible and reliable information regarding these topics. Also, publishing articles encouraging the readers to live healthier lives can have a very positive impact on them. Thus, I suggest a “let’s talk health” segment for Eagles.
