FGCU students are invited to paint for a cure at the Painting Party, Sunday, Oct. 23 at Vino’s Picasso center.

Hunting for a Cure is an organization that was launched in 2016 on FGCU’s campus and is inspired by students with Hunter’s syndrome.

The organization is known for its work at FGCU and for winning FGCU’s Community Engagement Day award, given to university projects on campus that compete for top honors.

Typically, Hunting For A Cure focuses on school activities, such as 5ks, to raise money, but this month, Hunting For A Cure is opening their doors to an event geared toward the artists on campus.

Painting for A Cure gives students the opportunity to come out, enjoy wine and create art to benefit those living with Hunter’s Syndrome.

The event will feature a 50/50 raffle and give guests the opportunity to create art for a helpful cause, regardless of their artistic abilities or level of creativity.

Costs per seat are $40, and a portion of all proceeds made at the fundraiser will benefit Hunting for a Cure, an organization that focuses on providing for members of the community that are living with Hunter’s Syndrome.

The money will be used to assist with medical expenses, as well as funding for advocacy opportunities.
