People help raise food and money for Harry Chapin Food Bank during the holiday season

With the holidays right around the corner, local stores and banks are helping raise money and food for the Harry Chapin Food Bank in Fort Myers.
Billy Fuccillo of Fuccillo Kia in Cape Coral will match every donation, up to $100,000, made to the food bank between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve.
Bank of America will host a Give a Meal campaign for the food bank from now until Dec. 31. Every dollar donated Bank of America will double, up to $1,000 per donor and $50,000 per food bank location. Last year, the same campaign raised $89,080 for the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
All Southwest Florida Publix stores will be participating in the Publix Food for Sharing Food Drive from now until Nov. 25. Each Publix store will have a display at the front of the store. Customers can grab a ticket from the display or the cash wrap while checking out. The ticket allows the customer to donate to the food bank. As a thank you, the donor will receive a free reusable bag from Publix.
Monetary donations to the Harry Chapin Food Bank can be set up as a one-time deal or as a monthly donation.  Every dollar donated allows the food bank to distribute $6 worth of food to more than 150 nonprofit partner agencies.
The food bank will accept canned, packaged and bottled food, cleaning supplies and toiletry items.
To donate to the Harry Chapin Food Bank, contact Tanya Phillips at [email protected] or 239-334-7007, ext. 141.
