FGCU UPD was notified of another whiteboard writing incident on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.
UPD Chief Steven Moore sent a Crime Alert to students, faculty and staff on Wednesday detailing the crime.
The incident, which occurred on the first floor near the Circulation Desk of the library, occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 1 between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. An individual who noticed the offensive writing notified library staff. The writing was then erased.
According to an email from President Wilson Bradshaw, which was sent on Wednesday, Nov. 2 to students, faculty and staff, the message read “Noose Tying 101.”
“If you have any information about this or the earlier whiteboard incident, I strongly encourage you to come forward,” Bradshaw said in the email.
In the Crime Alert, Chief Moore said that UPD is further investigating this incident along with the one that occurred on Oct. 12. Those with information can contact UPD Detective Joe Anderson at 239-590-1956.
“The library is a very busy place in the afternoons,” Chief Moore said in the alert. “We would hope that someone might have information that would assist in the investigation.”
