The Office of Continuing Education at FGCU has taken the helm at helping medical students of the recently closed Heritage Institute finish their degrees.
The for-profit school closed all 10 of its campuses including in Fort Myers. With no warning, the school shut down for monetary and enrollment reasons.
Partnered with education consulting firm MK Education, FGCU Office of Continuing Education is extending opportunities to displaced students to partake in the Pharmacy tech program, an online based 21-week program with testing and clinical practice facilitated at FGCU, for a reduced price due to their recent circumstances.
Similarly, to pharmacy students, medical coding students will see opportunities to continue their training in the coming months.
The educational materials will also be delivered online with physical testing locations.
Both the office continuing education and MK Education are working towards extending more courses and degree or certificate completion courses to other students of the suddenly disbanded Heritage Institute in flipped format educational opportunities.
