Postseason awards for FGCU women’s soccer player, Tabby Tindell, continue to flood in. Along with her recent NSCAA All-American status, Tindell was named a First Team Senior CLASS Award All-American.
This award was offered to ten finalists in November which were then voted on by fans, coaches and social media to see who they felt best represented the CLASS acronym [Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School].
The Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete, hoping to inspire those in athletics and to make a positive impact as leaders in their field.
On the field, Tindell set conference records with 66 goals and 162 points, earning herself the ASUN Player of the Year three times during her career with FGCU. She ended this year with 14 goals and eight assists.
Tindell finished her career at FGCU as the all-time assist leader with 30, along with 31 career game-winning goals, the second-most in NCAA history.
Beyond the field, Tindell was also a strong performer in the classroom. A health science major, Tindell began her final year with a 3.33 GPA, earning Dean’s List three times, Athletic Director’s Honor Roll five times and was invited to the Spring 2015 Academic Honors Luncheon.
The forward has also earned All-Academic honors twice and was recently named to the ASUN All-Academic Team.
Tindell has also been involved in the community outside of campus through volunteering, giving back in many ways.
The senior has volunteered at Metcalfe Elementary, Pine Manor, Eagle Revolution and Night at the Nest. She has also assisted with Gameday promotions, the Naples Fire Clinic and the Hunger Walk.
Tindell is one of the five First Team selections, including the Senior CLASS award winner. Others on the Senior CLASS list include, Christina Gibbons from Duke, Kadeisha Brown from West Virginia, Simone Kolander from Minnesota and Casie Ramsier from Auburn.
