Affleck revealed, internet goes bats*** & N*Sync Reunites

This week has been full of mixed emotions in Hollywood. The week kicked off with the death of a former Disney star as well as the death of a former “Bachelor” contestant, both apparent suicides. Lee Thompson Young, the man who played Jett Jackson on the once popular Disney show “The Famous Jett Jackson,” was found dead in his apartment with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. There were no signs currently that the actor was going through some troubling times, but in 2004 while filming “Friday Night Lights” it looked like he was going through some struggles. He had currently been working on the hit drama “Rizzoli and Isles,” and was described as being bright and energetic.

The second suicide of Gia Allemand, a former “Bachelor” contestant, was even more shocking, especially as the details of her death emerge. Allemand and her NBA boyfriend Ryan Anderson, who had appeared happy in public, were fighting a few hours before Allemand hung herself with a vacuum cleaner cord. It was in this fight that Anderson reportedly told her that he “didn’t love her anymore.” About twenty minutes later, Anderson received a frantic call from Allemand’s mother to check on his girlfriend, and that’s when he found her laying on her stairs with the cord wrapped around her neck. Allemand was only 29 years old.

In somewhat brighter news, Hollywood can add another famous name to the long list of those who have become the Caped Crusader. Ben Affleck is currently tapped to play Batman in the sequel to “Man of Steel.” Though the announcement has led to much backlash and speculation, Affleck has had his fair share of working in the world of superheroes, from playing in 2003’s “Daredevil,” the blind superhero, and playing George Reeves in “Hollywoodland,” the movie that called into question the death of the man who started the Superman phenomena on television. Production has been set to start next year, and the release of the movie is July 17, 2015.

The 2013 Video Music Awards took place Sunday night in Brooklyn, New York, and it definitely surpassed previous year’s with more confusion and shock than ever. From Lady Gaga opening the show, Miley Cyrus’s bizarre performance, and the reunion of one of our favorite 90’s boy bands, N*Sync, the VMA’s were nothing short of surprises. Miss Cyrus, however, stole the show in a not so positive fashion, dancing around in a nude bikini styled outfit and twerking it out against Robin Thicke’s man parts. Even some of the celebrity attendees couldn’t help their reactions. However, everyone picked their jaws off the floor just in time for them to drop again as Justin Timberlake took the stage to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and perform some of his most popular songs, which were not entirely solo. America watched as JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick joined the stage for a short but magical moment. Hopefully this won’t be the last time we see this boy band reunite, but hopefully it will be one of many train wrecks Miley Cyrus will be a part of and the world will get to watch.
