Fort Myers is a prime summer vacation hotspot for FGCU students, commuters, and in-house students alike. Our beloved Gulf Coast city has many attractions for all ages and tastes.
Of course, no one will stay cooped up in their summer living space for two months. Here are the five attractions for students to visit in Fort Myers.
Bowditch Point Park
Bowditch Point Park is a beautiful gulf-ocean beach aligned with pale white sand and crystal clear salt water. Sitting at the edge of Estero Island, this 17-acre park appeals to all ocean aesthetics girls. The beach isn’t the only activity at the park, as hiking trails, picnic areas, and a free public boat dock are available for all guests.
Fort Myers Beach Art Association and Gallery
This gallery and art association is a non-profit organization that hosts events at various venues around Fort Myers. The showcase is a friendly and dynamic spot to interact with local artists and their artwork. Visitors can view, buy, sell, and even create art at these events.
Fort Myers Beach Community Pool
Looking for a place to beat the heat away from the beach? Ironically located near Fort Myers Beach, the community pool is open to all guests who come and visit, however, there is a price. The price is incredibly affordable, clocking in at only $4 for adults and somehow less for children. If the beach is ever closed or too crowded, this high quality community pool is a great option.
Fort Myers Beach Public Library
Staying on the topic of Fort Myers Beach, did all of you know about the incredible library available for free? If you’re more of an indoors-type of person, this cozy, plentiful library not only provides a comfortable and cool place to read out of the sun, but it’s also inexpensive to get a library card for future returns. This one’s for you, BookTok users!
Broadway Palm Dinner Theater
Treat yourself to a delicious meal and a matinee/dinner show of some of the most recognizable, enjoyable off-Broadway shows to date at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater. Despite the hefty price, the splurge is absolutely worth it if you’re looking for an exciting night out!
