Feeling droopy, stressed and out of shape? Believe it or not, skipping breakfast in the morning can play a huge impact on your health, or even worse, the aching of your body. Many college students say the reasons for skipping breakfast usually include not having time to cook, rushing for class or simply “my stomach is not hungry for food.” But all three excuses are not good enough.
There are many simple tricks to making a quick breakfast in the morning that will boost your energy and get you active for the day. Lora Ulrich, a lifestyle coach and certified nutrition and wellness consultant, has significant advice to offer students for having a nutritional breakfast and why we all should not skip the most important meal of the day.
“Eating breakfast is so important to get your day started,” Ulrich said. “Think of it this way: If you didn’t have gasoline in your car, you wouldn’t be able to drive to your destination. Breakfast is our energy to get us going and feeling great.”
Ulrich even alerts us about nutritional meals to eat for breakfast.
“Of course, what we eat for breakfast is very important,” Ulrich said. “You want to make sure to have the right balance of lean protein, complex carbs and essential fats. And, of course, we want it to be quick and easy so that breakfast won’t take up much of your morning.”
“Breakfast gives you the energy you need to have a great day,” said FGCU student Mia Stanzione, a sophomore and community health major. “I usually get my nutrition by eating honey oats cereal with peaches mixed to combine my complex carbs and nourishing sugar from fruits.”
