Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres hosts haunted walk
October 21, 2015
The Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres will be holding its second annual Scream on the Green event, a haunted walk. The two-weekend event will be held Oct. 22 to 24 and Oct. 30 to 31 at the Copperhead Golf Course.
The golf course will be transformed into a haunted walk where guests will be spooked thoroughly. In addition to the walk, the event also doubles as a charity event to benefit Lehigh Community Services.
Admission to Scream on the Green is $3, but guests who bring a canned-food item will save $1 per entry.
“The inaugural Scream on the Green event collected more than 900 pounds of food for Lehigh Community Services and saw more than 2500 guests,” said Fred Elliot, the president of the Lehigh Acres Rotary Club. “We are hopeful that this family-friendly event will be even more successful this year.”
The Rotary Club of Lehigh Acres has been involved in the community for 40 years, and it hopes to expand its turnout for this annual Halloween event. All ages are welcome for both the Scream on the Green and Trunk- or-Treat event. Last year, the Kiwanis-led volunteers were from Lehigh Senior High School’s Key Club. This year, the organizations will also run with the support of volunteers from East Lee County High School Interact Club, JROTC and Boy Scout Troop.
Copperhead Golf Club is located off Homestead Road at the end of Beth Stacey Boulevard. at 20910 Copperhead Drive, Lehigh Acres. Parking is free.
