If you are like me, you never even started working on your New Year’s resolution. Don’t be ashamed though, there are a ton of people who are in the same situation. But, with two days left in the year, there are still a bunch of things we can accomplish. Together, us procrastinators can conquer 2015 and get prepared for the next year. The list below gives examples on how to finish 2015 strongly.
Buy a planner
The resolution “get organized” is too broad. Start small. Buying a planner for the next year is the first step to being more organized. When you buy your brand new planner, go through the school’s calendar, and enter important dates like when payments are due or if we have any days off.
Throw away your old calendar
2015 is in the past, so let’s look ahead to the new year. We have 365 days to look forward to.
Clean out your email
It’s a new year, so let’s get rid of the emails you don’t read anyway. At no point next year will you need to know of that one sale Victoria’s Secret had in August, trust me.
Call your mom/dad/grandmother/grandfather etc.
They miss you, so why don’t you take the time out of your busy schedule (Yeah right, it’s winter break) and give them a call.
Do a couple sit-ups or burpees (whatever that is?)
If your New Year’s resolution is to workout more, get a head start by doing a set of sit-ups or crunches.
Update your phone/computer
Instead of hitting ignore each time the notification comes up, press update. In the end, you will be happy you did it because your phone will work a lot better – and have you seen the new emojis?
Clean your room
I know we are on break, and we want to relax, but it’s time to buckle down and clean your room. Just remember the feeling you get when you’re done. You feel like you can conquer anything. I am not saying to dust and mop. Just pick things up off the floor, and put them where they belong.
Donate a dollar or 10
Donate to an organization that can really use it. Not only will it make a difference, you will walk away feeling satisfied because you did a good deed for your community.
With all the negativity in the world, remember to treat yo’ self. Be your own cheerleader. Remind yourself that you crushed it last semester, and you know you can do it again in the spring.
Congratulations! You have accomplished your 2015 resolution and now you can tackle 2016 with a breeze. Here is to a wonderful new year and making easy resolutions that you know you can keep.
