Fort Myers Miracle internship offers students behind-scenes experience

The busiest time of year for the Fort Myers Miracle, a Class A Florida State League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins who play at Hammond Stadium,  is between April and September — from spring training to the end of the regular season.
With the minor league team playing games both in the exhibition season and regular summer season,  there is no doubt that they will need help to get the operation going and make it successful.
If you love baseball and would like to get to know what it feels like to work behind the scenes at a professional baseball facility, an internship with the Miracle may be for you. Your main location will be at Hammond Stadium in south Fort Myers, which has a newly renovated food and beverage area, and internships focus on areas such as game-day operations, group sales, merchandising and public relations. The Miracle internship will give you the ins and outs of the daily operation — an opportunity to learn what happens in the background.
While there aren’t any specific requirements, it will be beneficial to those in the fields of communication, hospitality, athletics and exercise science. But even if you don’t major in any of those areas, you can still apply.
At the end, you will have learned how a professional baseball operation works. Students wanting more information can contact Ashley Adams, manager of community relations and merchandise for the Miracle, at [email protected].
