Funny Instagram accounts that will make your day

Just like any other college student, I’m stressed. Between a full course load, hours of studying and fretting about next week’s assignments while attempting to somehow make it through this week’s due dates and work outside of school, I need something to help me keep my mind from exploding from such a busy schedule, and social media is a great distraction. I love Instagram. I love keeping up with friends, double tapping on unbelievably adorable pictures of cats and wishing I was the person behind the iPhone who just snapped a breathtaking picture of a sunset on the coast of California. But recently, I scroll through to find some of my nScreen Shot 2015-03-10 at 5.14.48 PMew favorite accounts to literally laugh out loud and take a break during my day.
So far I am stuck on two specific accounts that I recommend to anyone who needs some comedic relief in their life. The first being @omgliterallydead, which follows the fabulous life of Skellie, the sassy, trendy and too-relatable for some skeleton, that gained thousands of followers after the account was discussed as a trending topic on the acclaimed Elvis Duran Morning Show on the radio. Skellie can be caught taking selfies in too-wide glasses and an ex’s flannel button down or water-falling vodka. Whoever runs this account should get a high-five for some hilarious captions that many (including myself) find rather amusing.
The second, and my favorite, would be @crazyjewishmom, which grewScreen Shot 2015-03-10 at 5.39.12 PM in popularity seemingly overnight when daughter Kate, who captures and posts screenshots of texts from her mother, was interviewed for an article about her account, and the story was featured on NBC’s website. The texts were also featured on the “Ellen” show on Monday for their unmistakable hilarity. The conversations capture anything from Kate pleading with her literally crazy Jewish mom to stop sending lingerie to her office, to her mom harassing Kate that she will set her up with someone she’s been talking to on JDate (a Jewish dating site) because Kate’s boyfriend nicknamed “SuperJew” has not proposed. “No ring on the finger you must not linger” is crazy Jewish mom’s constant reminder that Kate is still not engaged and it’s time to move on. More recently, Kate’s mom has learned how to twerk and discovered what an emoji is and has been spamming Kate’s inbox with up to 22 text messages at a time.
So do yourself a favor. Go follow these accounts for some hilarious posts. I promise you won’t regret it.
