Help Leonardo DiCaprio win his first Oscar in ‘Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage’ game

There is a video game where the objective is to win actor Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar. Yes, this exists, and yes, it’s hilarious.
On Feb. 16, the London-based animation collective The Line released “Leo’s Red Carpet Rampage,” an 8-bit, arcade-style game that allows you to play as Leonardo DiCaprio chasing an Oscar award down the red carpet, and it’s completely addictive.
The browser game has everything you can ask for in an endless runner game: tons of award statuettes such as Emmys and Golden Globes, the full lineup of Best Actor nominees chasing him down the carpet and a huge posse of paparazzi that just won’t get out of the way, all while the Oscar is just bobbing at the end of the race.
The Line also makes fun of the lack of diversity in this year’s Oscar nominations with a “find the black nominee” bonus round — which I personally think is rigged.

To get DiCaprio to his Oscar, you have to quickly tap the G and H keys repeatedly while also pressing the space bar to jump over the paparazzi and even the surprise iceberg that is casually on the red carpet. Every time you make it to the end of a round, you are awarded with a bonus minigame, such as helping DiCaprio write his acceptance speech.
I only made it to round five before the deluge of paparazzi attacked me and pushed me out of frame. I helped DiCaprio win a lot of awards but, unfortunately, not the coveted Oscar.
Although it is difficult to win the Oscar, this game definitely delivers in comedy. One of the funniest segments of the game is when you have to help DiCaprio crawl to his car, referencing one of his best scenes from “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
You can play the game at redcarpetrampage.com.
