New coffee shop wows with flavors

With the start of spring semester, there couldn’t be a better time for a coffee shop to open up near campus. On Dec. 20, Maui Wowi, a Hawaiian coffee and smoothie franchise, opened in the Miromar Outlets, situated next to Ford’s Garage.
As you step inside the petit coffee shop, the Hawaiian Island atmosphere sweeps your senses off to paradise.
The simplistic and straightforward menu has all the classics a devout coffee addict needs: hot or iced coffee, cappuccinos, lattes and mochas. For those wanting to change up their coffee intake, Maui Wowi offers blended espressos, frappes, hot KoKo (hot chocolate), and not to mention their natural fruit smoothies, offering blends uncommon to traditional smoothie shops; kiwi-lemon-lime, mangoorange, black raspberry and Lemonwave.
Business is getting better and better every day says Hadi Kelani, the general manager.
“I believe we have very good customer service, in addition to a great product,” said Kelani. “When I say I have American coffee, I really mean I have American coffee, which is grown in Hawaii.” While Maui Wowi has multiple kiosks and event carts operating in Florida, this is only the second store to open in the sunshine state, the first being in Boynton Beach. Maui Wowi is currently offering a 20 percent discount for Miromar Outlet employees. “We don’t have any student discounts right now, but we’re working on something in the future,” Kelani said.
As the legend states, “From our ‘Ohana to yours, may Maui Wowi bring you health, serenity and the ‘Aloha spirit.”
