FGCU senior art gallery presentation starts April 24

As the rapper Macklemore said, “A life lived for art is never a life wasted.”
At the end of an art major’s studies, they complete a senior project “in which he or she successfully executes a body of work combining their knowledge of techniques and concepts while drawing on research of historical and contemporary artists,” according to the Florida Gulf Coast University’s website.

This spring the work of nine seniors will be showcased in the gallery: Jessica Dehen, Kate Dupre, Mariana Griswold, Julianna Javier, Marisa Schreiber, Mary McBeath, Megan Mosallem, John Povlitz and Robert Pavon.

From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24th, the Finals: Spring 2014 Senior Project Exhibitions will hold its opening reception at the Main Art Gallery in the Arts Complex. At 7 p.m. there will be an introduction of the artists.
The show will remain on display in the gallery until May 9.
