That Awkward Moment (January 31)

Zach Efron and Michael B. Jordan star in this comedy about three friends who make a vow to stay single, but quickly find themselves falling for girls. Involved in relationships they swore against, the friends have to hide their actions from each other.

The Monuments Men (February 7)

Also known as the movie to take your grandparents to. To be clear, this is not a slam against
the World War II story. It comes with a high pedigree in the form of John Goodman, Bill Murray, and George Clooney, but the true life plot (about art historians rescuing priceless artifacts from being destroyed), time period and talent involved are definitely aimed at a specific kind of audience.

Robocop (February 14)

Based on the 1984 original, this one has a police officer (Joel Kinnaman) nearly killed, then built into the ultimate means of law enforcement. Yep, it’s another remake. On the other hand, robotic assault machines and the human faces in front of and behind them are even more prescient in this day and age than they were 30 years ago.

Vampire Academy (February 14)

A teenage girl is sworn to protect the last heir of vampire royalty as they both attend a school for the undead. Based on the young adult series, it looks like a movie that isn’t going to take it’s premise too seriously.

Grace of Monaco (March 14)

Nicole Kidman plays screen legend and later the original “people’s princess,” Grace Kelly, in this biopic. Kelly was an actress for MGM, working with Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable and Cary Grant before dying of a stroke/car crash in 1982.

Need for Speed (March 14)

You may have noticed the trailer for a car-racing movie back during the “Breaking Bad” finale. Well, this is it. While it is an adaptation of a video game, “Speed” is hoping to Aaron Paul’s talent and a whole new story to break the curse of game-to-film awfulness.

Divergent (March 21)

Another young adult series getting translated to the big screen, “Divergent” takes place in a totalitarian universe where a girl (Shailene Woodley) goes on the run from a ruthless leader that is hunting down her and her kind.

Muppets Most Wanted (March 21)

Everyone’s favorite felt frog heads back to Hollywood, in this latest installment, co-starring Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell. Kermit is framed for a crime by a doppelganger and the gang gets wrapped up in a European adventure.

Noah (March 28)

Darren Aronofsky’s (“The Wrestler,” “Requiem for a Dream”) controversial take on the Biblical epic, buzz has been surrounding the film since rumor broke that studios were
hesitant to release it. However, no one knows if this has been due to dark twists (the filmmaker’s trademark) on the venerated source material, or a strict adherence to the Book of Genesis that may alienate audiences that reject a literalist interpretation.
