Zayn leaves One Direction

Yes, it is true. Big news for the “Directioners” on the weekend of March 28: European boy band One Direction has lost one of its members. Zayn Malik, who was one of the original members of the group, has officially resigned from the “X Factor” formed group.
According to E! News, back in 2010, Nicole Scherzinger of the British version of “X Factor” had “famously suggested that solo singers Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik try out as a band when she was a guest judge on the Boot Camp stage of “X Factor,” leading to the formation of One Direction.”
Malik broke his silence barely 24 hours after his decision to depart from the group, claiming that being in a musical group is “not him,” and he had only kept his stance in One Direction because he did it for the fans and only for the fans of 1D. He also revealed that production for solo music had begun a while back.
Other celebrities such as former Jonas Brothers member Nick Jonas and Ryan Reynolds have spoken out with opinions on the situation. Nick Jonas, who pursued a short-lived career on Broadway after leaving the Jonas Brothers, understood Malik’s decision.
“It’s always tough,” he said. “You know, there’s never an easy time to make a decision like that. I commend him for doing what feels is right for him and you have to stay true to yourself.”
On a more interesting note, Blake Lively’s husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, has expressed his devastation of the situation.
“How sad are you about Zayn leaving One Direction?” a follower of Reynolds on Twitter asked him. “I refuse to believe this,” he replied in a tweet back to the curious follower. “That’s like Taylor Swift leaving Taylor Swift.”
Alongside in the mourning process with Reynolds and millions of fans spread across the world, Billy Eichner is also devastated. He jokingly admitted to the fact that he has been to a candlelight vigil all week already.
As for the band itself, Zayn Malik has no doubts that they will survive without his presence. He stated that he has never felt more in control of his life. Malik does not imagine anybody else leaving the group.
“They’ve been really cool about it. And they understand that, you know, it’s not real to me anymore. They still want to do it for a while, so they’re going to carry on doing what they want to do. And I think they’re going to do OK for a while. I think they’re going to be cool.”
For the sake of those brokenhearted Directioners out there, there is no word on if he will be pulling a Geri Halliwell by rejoining the boys just as she did nine years after quitting the Spice Girls. “I don’t think I can really answer that, really, but, I don’t know,” the pop star said.
