Zayn Malik producing new NBC drama

Since Zayn Malik left One Direction in March of 2015, he’s been up to quite a lot. From infamous twitter fights, to a record-breaking debut album, his has been the name on everyone’s lips.
It seems that soon he will be adding the title of “executive producer” to his resume as he has teamed up with Dick Wolf to create a new drama for NBC, “Boys.” The show will aim to capture the ups and downs of boy-band life.
Noelle Wolf pitched the show to NBC and Sherri Cooper Landsman and Jennifer Levin, executive producers of CBS’s “Beauty and The Beast,” have been revealed to be the head writers.
Simon Cowell, who took part in the creation of One Direction, has spoken out about the “Boys” rumors, stating that he wishes that the One Direction boys would come to him with their ideas before acting upon them.
However, Malik isn’t the only One Direction member to pursue outside projects. Liam Payne and Niall Horan have both signed solo contracts, promising new music in the near future. Harry Styles has signed a solo contract as well, and has also managed to land himself a role in the upcoming Christopher Nolan film “Dunkirk.” Meanwhile, Louis Tomlinson has paired up with Cowell to promote an unnamed girl band.
