Receiving support for what you believe in has its perks, and for FGCU, local legislators have been right by the university’s side.
The 3rd Annual Eagle Advocacy Appreciation Reception is sponsored by the FGCU Foundation, and the purpose of the event is to show appreciation towards local legislators who have supported FGCU and its priorities as a university.
Local legislators have played a huge role in helping FGCU build necessary buildings and amenities to help the university’s students get the most out of attending the university. FGCU believes in giving back and helping the environment, and with the support of local legislators, it has been able to develop a solar field as well as green buildings to help it become a green school.
The event is planned by Eagle Advocacy, which is a web-based advocacy initiative for the university that was created to support the president and Board of Trustees, and this event highlights the gratitude that FGCU has for local legislators.
For the event, business attire is suggested as proper dress code. Attendees include FGCU administration, faculty, staff, students, FGCU Board of Trustees and Foundation members, other area elected officials and community leaders. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Admission is free, and the event will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 in the Cohen Center, room 214.
