The FGCU student that fell from the 6th floor of the South Village parking garage is stable and expected to make a full recovery, according to a Lee Memorial spokesperson.
The student, an 18-year-old freshman, fell from the 6th floor of parking garage B at around 1 a.m. Friday morning, according to a report from FGCU’s University Police Department (UPD).
According to UPD reports, officers responded to the scene, located the subject on the ground outside of the parking garage and called for medical attention. At the time, the student was unconscious but breathing.
According to a letter sent out to the student body late Friday night, the student had been in an argument and was under emotional distress. He had climbed onto the ledge twice and ultimately fell.
