An FGCU student tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, April 8, according to a statement released by FGCU on Thursday.
The student, who currently lives in FGCU’s West Lake Village student housing, said they came into minimal contact with others, according the statement on April 9.
The student is being isolated in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the university said.
Any students believed to have been at risk of exposure will be asked to self-quarantine. The Florida Department of Health will begin to conduct its contact tracing process to determine who may have come into contact with the COVID-19 positive student, according to the statement.
