Updated Campus Dining Schedule For 2021
By Riley Hazel
FGCU’s Campus Dining has released an updated spring schedule complete with new hours and closures. BYOB, Boar’s Head and the Marketplace at Howard Hall were hit the hardest, closing for the remainder of the spring semester.
Other than closures, Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts sustained the most notable changes. Starbucks’ hours are slated for an earlier closing time. Dunkin’ Donuts will follow and close at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Dining Services did not comment on the updated hours.
“I almost always go somewhere in [the Cohen Student Union] like Brahma or Einstein’s,” Alexis Fulton, an FGCU junior, said. Fulton explained that the closures went unnoticed for her. “My friend told me the other day because she was upset about it.”
For other students at FGCU, the new schedule largely impacts their on-campus experience.
“BYOB provided a much-needed vegetarian and vegan option that other main campus dining locations do not offer,” Andrea Toles, an FGCU freshman, said. “I’m not able to get a quality meal that respects my dietary restrictions. Although some locations offer alternatives and substitutions, it’s not the same.”
Toles said that she visited the Marketplace frequently, sometimes up to five times a week. Students like Toles will have to seek alternatives for meals that meet their needs for the remainder of the semester.
