According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office press release:
“A Florida Gulf Coast University student is under arrest tonight, accused of sexually battering two female students and attacking a third.  Joshua Sekulic was arrested tonight shortly after 8:00 p.m.  Investigators say Sekulic’s crimes occurred over a six day period in late October.
On November 2, 2013, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Florida Gulf Coast University Police Office regarding a past occurred sex crime.  Two female students reported to FGCU Police that they were sexually attacked by the same guy.  Due to the nature of the allegations, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.
According to the first victim, she invited Sekulic to her FGCU apartment on October 24 to watch a movie.  She says shortly after his arrival, Sekulic became aggressive and demanded sex.  She says she refused at which time Sekulic removed her clothing and raped her.
The second victim stated she invited Sekulic to her dorm room on October 30th.  Again, Sekulic demanded sex and when the victim said no, he held her down against her will and forced her into oral sex.
The third victim says she and Sekulic were in her student apartment on October 28 when he started messing with her IPAD.  She says when she told Sekulic to leave, he grabbed her, bit her on the shoulder and threw her on the bed, pinning her down. The victim was able to break free and Sekulic subsequently left.
Following an interview with detectives, and as a result of evidence gathered during the investigation, Sekulic was arrested and charged with two counts of Sexual Battery and one count of Battery.
Detectives want to know if there are more victims of Sekulic out there.  If so, they are encouraged to call the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (239) 477-1050.”

This is deplorable…as an FGCU alumna I am angry that a sick human being is shedding negative light on this amazing university. I hope they put him away for a long time, and these young women can get the help they need to recover from this trauma.
