What do students like more than t-shirt exchanges? T-shirt exchanges with free pizza. That’s what FGCU’s Student Government provided for students Wednesday Sept. 16., the first of many ‘WingsUpWednesdays.’

WUW is an event put together by SG that will take place every third Wednesday. This previousWUWhad a t-shirt exchange and Jet’s Pizza. The table was set up on the Cohen Center lawn and had a large turnout. Students wearing FGCU apparel got free pizza and all students were given the option to parttake in the t-shirt exchange.
The t-shirt exchange is specifically for college t-shirts. Students can take an old college t-shirt from any school and exchange it for a new FGCU t-shirt. SG is hoping the t-shirt exchange can be present at every WUW.
“The fact that I can exchange my old college shirts for new shirts from my own college is really awesome,” said Maribel Gomez, a sophomore communication major.
“The t-shirt exchange tees are in high demand,” said Ivan Rodriguez, SG University Outreach chair, “If it’s cleaning up our campus of other university t-shirts, then we will do everything that we can to assure it will always be present.
“The next ‘WingsUpWednesday’ will be the same for the most part, but there might be a surprise or two,” Rodriguez said. “Students will just have to wait and find out.”
The main purpose of WUW is to get students excited about FGCU. There are many upcoming events and games that students can attend and SG hopes Wings UpWednesday will cause more school spirit.
