The passenger admitted to have thrown the bottle but claimed to be unaware of hitting the sign. The officer then escorted the subjects back to the scene, so they could pick up their litter. The officer also spotted marijuana and a bottle of beer inside the car in plain sight. The officer tested the marijuana, which tested positive, and disposed of the full bottle of beer.
