Being cooped up inside can make you feel crazy. Here’s a list of things that you can do during your quarantine that don’t involve binge watching Tiger King on Netflix (which you’ve probably already done).

1.Call/text/faceTime your friends

Remember that social distancing doesn’t have to mean social isolation. Check on your friends and how they’re handling their quarantine. Many people are experiencing fear and anxiety in the face of COVID-19, and reminding them that we’re all in this together will make them feel better.

2. Keep a journal

Stressed and anxious about COVID-19? Write down your feelings! You’ll feel better. According to a 2009 study, writing about your feelings can help your brain overcome, and heal from, emotional dilemmas.

3. Revisit the music you listened to when you were younger

Turn up the throwbacks! Are you cringing, or are you rediscovering your emo phase?

4. Read a Book

Libraries are closed now, but a free app called Overdrive lets you access hundreds of ebooks and audiobooks with just your library card number.

5. Keep up with your coursework (and not with the Kardashians)

In the words of Shia LaBeouf, Just. Do. It.

6. Learn a new skill

Harry Styles, according to Teen Vogue, is learning Italian and sign language during his quarantine. What are you doing with yours? Websites such as Skillshare and Coursera offer hundreds of free courses on everything from computer science to Greek mythology.

7. Donate

If you can, donate to charity. Feeding America is a non-profit that helps provide food-insecure Americans with nutrition during these uncertain times. The American Red Cross is accepting blood donations now, due to a shortage of blood drives.

8. Do research on the 2020 election

Election news has taken a backseat to COVID-19, but your vote matters. Consult websites like Snopes.com, Politifact.com, and govtrack.us, which tracks the votes and activities of the men and women serving in Congress, to help with your decision.

9. Spend time with family and pets

Remember to play with, hug, and take selfies with your pets. They’re glad you’re home.

10. Relax

The news can be overwhelming right now, but take social media breaks, put on your pajamas, and do what makes you happy. Remember to eat healthily, and engage in self-care. Take a walk in your neighborhood, reflect on what you are grateful for, and take some quiet time for yourself.
