Democratic presidential candidates are inadequate for office

In the Democratic polls, Hillary Clinton has been first for awhile now, with Bernie Sanders at a close second and Governor Martin O’Malley dragging far behind. According to a recent CBS News poll, the second Democratic debate didn’t change that. Fifty-one percent of Democrats believe Clinton won the debate. Although all three are presidential candidates from the Democratic Party, listening to them in the debate, I felt they all sounded equally unqualified to ever be president of the United States.
Sanders and Clinton are confused when it comes to the issues facing this country. In fact, anyone who believes that global warming is a major issue facing this country is mistaken. How about terrorism, the economy or illegal immigration? Just to name a few things I feel are of serious concern to the citizens of the United States, and whether or not the earth’s temperature changed a degree or so is not one of them, despite Sanders’ belief that global warming causes terrorism.
“Hours before the attacks (in Paris), President Obama said, ‘I don’t think ISIS is gaining strength,’” debate moderator John Dickerson said to Clinton. “Seventy-two percent of Americans think the fight against ISIS is going badly. Won’t the legacy of this administration, which is — which you were a part of — won’t that legacy be that it underestimated the threats from ISIS?”
Clinton’s response mirrored President Barack Obama’s input on the issue.
“There is no question in my mind that if we summon our resources, both our leadership resources and all of the tools at our disposal, not just military force — which should be used as a last resort — but our diplomacy, our development aid, law enforcement, sharing of intelligence in a much more open and cooperative way, that we can bring people together,” Clinton said. “But, it cannot be an American fight.”
If this is not America’s fight, how are we supposed to defeat these terrorists? The United States of America has the strongest military power in the world. They are the only way we are going to defeat these terrorist groups.
O’Malley responded to questions about ISIS sounding more like a conservative than a Democrat.
“This actually is America’s fight,” O’Malley said. “It cannot solely be America’s fight. America is best when we work in collaboration with our allies. America is best when we are actually standing up to evil in this world. And ISIS, make no mistake about it, is an evil in this world.”
Syrian refugees were another topic that introduced a lively conversation between the candidates, with O’Malley saying the U.S. should take in 65,000 refugees and Clinton agreeing. Sanders said it is our moral responsibility to take in these refugees.
Obama has recently said the U.S. should be willing to accept 10,000 refugees despite the majority of his colleagues, including our governor, Rick Scott, openly disagreeing with this decision, and the candidates saying 65,000 is quite a jump from 10,000.
If you didn’t watch the last democratic debate, you missed out on a very entertaining night. The debate was filled with comments from all three candidates that made me realize why I am proud to be a strong conservative.
