FGCU women’s basketball assistant coach Nicki Collen resigned from her position with the team to accept a position with a WNBA team, according to FGCU Athletics. After finishing her second year with the Eagles, which included the team’s first-ever NCAA win and first-ever WNIT championship appearance, Collen will join the Connecticut Sun as an assistant coach.
Collen will join Connecticut head coach Curt Miller later this month in preparation for the 2016 season, which will begin on Saturday, May 14. With the Sun, Collen will specialize in team scouting and player development.
A national search for her replacement will begin immediately.
