After an exciting Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Championship game that backed up why the month of March is considered madness, the –Sun announced the All-Tournament Team.
Headlining the team as the tournament MVP was FGCU Forward, Mr. Double-Double Marc-Eddy Norelia. During the tournament, Norelia averaged 17.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, including a monstrous performance in the 89-56 victory over No.1 seed UNF on the road, a 23 point and 13 rebound performance. Norelia was also a member of the A-Sun All-Conference First team.
Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen team member, guard Zach Johnson, was also selected to the All-Tournament team. Throughout the tournament, Johnson averaged 16 points and 3 assist per game, with his a 19 point and five assist performance coming when FGCU needed it most against in the championship game against Stetson.
The last Eagle named to the All-Tournament team was guard Christian Terrell. The Jacksonville native averaged 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4 assist per game throughout the tournament, with his best performance coming in the 89-56 thrashing of UNF, ending the night with 16 points, six rebounds and four assist.
The other players selected to the A-Sun All-Tournament team were:
Stetson’s Brian Pegg.
Stetson’s Derick Newton.
A-Sun Player of the Year UNF’s Dallas Moore.
Lipscomb’s Josh Hampton.
The Eagles will represent the Atlantic Sun Conference as a 16 seed in the NCAA tournament, beginning Mar. 15th
