It’s time for Apple’s annual smart phone release and they’re taking a step back.
Instead of blowing up portions, the new iPhone SE is shrinking to meet consumer expectations.
This new iPhone is one of the most powerful yet, and it’s all packed into a petite, four-inch display. Think of it as a cousin to the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
Like its predecessors, it will maintain the sleek, matte aluminum look with curved edges in a number of metallic finishes. Only this time, Apple is pulling back the scale.
On the inside, the SE remains very similar to the 6S and 6S Plus. It too will contain a full HD retina display and a 64-bit A9 chip for faster processing and longer battery life. The 12-megapixel back camera will also be capable of 4k video and live photos, features exclusive to iOS 9 6S devices.
All models will come in space grey, silver, gold or rose gold and will begin pricing at retailers for $17 monthly payments for a two-year plan.
Trade-up plans can get the new model for as low as $10 a month for the same two-year contract. On its own, the new phone will run for $399.
Pre-orders in the U.S. for the latest iPhone will begin Thursday, March 24 and will be available for purchase a week later, Thursday, March 31.
