The student breezeway was crowded with banners and fliers and future leaders on Tuesday, marking the beginning of Student Government campaigns.
The parties competing for control of Student Government are Y.E.S! and Engage.
The Engage Party executive branch nominations include Brice Pelliccioni for president, Molly Ferguson, for vice president and Woodrow Wilson for treasurer.
The executive branch nominations for the Y.E.S! Party include Juan Cubillo, chair of the senate appropriations committee, for president, Luis Vargas, current student body vice president, for vice president and Shawn Davis, former student body president of Edison State College for treasurer.
The Engage Party has divided its platform into four “Engage” sections: student life, your future, your academics and your student government.
The Y.E.S! Party platform is divided into three sections: “For your education,” “For your student life” and “For a brighter future.”
The annual Student Government debate will take place Thursday from 8-10 p.m. in the Cohen Center ballroom.
Campaigning will continue until voting takes place on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Cohen Center 247.
