After a 2-1 loss on Friday night to Northwestern, the FGCU men’s soccer team hosts Michigan in its home opener.
Michigan faced No. 19 USF in Tampa this past Friday, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
While the Eagles currently hold a 0-1-0 record, the Wolverines stand at 0-0-1. With neither team coming out of its season opener victorious, both teams look for their first win of the 2016 campaign.
2015 Big Ten freshman of the year Francis Atuahene is a key player to keep an eye on. Atuahene tallied 10 goals and 13 assists last season for the Wolverines.
After starting three newcomers, including goalkeeper, Jared Brown, it will be interesting to see if the Eagles make any changes to the starting 11.
This battle will be FGCU’s second of three with teams in the Big Ten conference this season.
The game will be held at the FGCU Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29.
