There are many ways to enjoy the time off of school. You can go outside and get some fresh air, or you can stay in and indulge in some self-care. Take a step back and be sure to catch some movies that are a must-see.

1. “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”
If you are a Marvel fan or even if you just love Spider-Man, this is a must-see movie. With its intricate animation and fun family-orientated themes, this movie is sure to pull on some heartstrings. There is action spread across the movie and you get to see Miles Morales in a different light. I am not the biggest fan of animated movies, but I truly enjoyed sitting through this one. It will have you laughing, crying, and sitting on the edge of your seat.

2. “The Little Mermaid”
There was so much controversy surrounding this movie, but all in all, I think Disney did it justice. The movie had a beautiful take on one of my favorite characters, Ariel. I think the songs were elegant, fun, and creative and it makes me want to see more. Halle Bailey as Ariel was a wonderful choice. Her facial expressions, her vocals, and her runs were spot on. I even think Prince Eric was cast well. Overall, I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did.

3. “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3”
This movie was funny, fun, and pleasing to the eye. If you haven’t watched the previous movies, I think you should. Overall, the volumes are entertaining and hold a lot of special moments. They pull you into the story in a comical yet emotional way. It’s a movie that can tug at the heartstrings. The action sequences and character arcs are striking and something you want to be a part of. It’s a great “family” movie, showing that sometimes families are the ones you make and meet along the way.

4. “Fast X”
Now this movie franchise is one that I have loved since I was a kid. The franchise has gone in so many directions and has certainly changed a lot since the first movie, however, if you want a good time, “Fast X” is the movie for you. The movie will have you cracking up in your seat and wanting to be a part of Dominic Toretto’s infamous family. With crazy car crashes and amazing fights, this movie is one to watch.

5. “No Hard Feelings”
This movie is a little “riskier,” where Jennifer Lawrence stars as a sex-positive young woman, who needs some extra cash and is willing to go to extreme lengths to get it. The movie is funny, wild and free. It feels nostalgic in a way, and it’s certainly raunchy, but this film will lift your spirits. In a sense, it’s almost a cringe humor, but it seems worth it. There was even some improv in the film that seemed to fit right in. All and all, it was for sure an experience.

I am more of a TV show girl myself, but I always love watching a good movie from time to time. These were some that I enjoyed and I know many others did too.
