With the Grammy’s already one week behind us, we prepare to the 87th Academy Awards, aka the Oscars which airs tomorrow night (February 22nd) at 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
First and foremost, let us not lose our temper and raise our pitchforks just yet at the fact that Leonardo DiCaprio will not be given a chance this year for another shot at winning his very first Oscar.
Nonetheless, the nominations for the 87th Academy Awards include for Best Picture: American Sniper, The Imitation Game, Birdman, Selma, Boyhood, The Theory of Everything, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Whiplash; for Best Leading Actor: Steve Carell in “Foxcatcher”, Michael Keaton in “Birdman”, Bradley Cooper in “American Sniper”, Eddie Redmayne in “The Theory of Everything”, and Benedict Cumberbath in “The Imitation Game”; for Best Supporting Actress: Patricia Arquette in “Boyhood”, Emma Stone in “Birdman”, Laura Denn in “Wild”, Meryl Streep in “Into the Woods”, and Keira Knightley in “The Imitation Game”; and for Animated Feature Film: Big Hero 6, Song of The Sea, The Boxtrolls, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, and How To Train Your Dragon 2.
